Quick overview
Le présent — talking about now. Use the présent for facts, routines and current actions. Je travaille au bureau. (I work at the office.) · L’équipe prépare le rapport. (The team is preparing the report.)
Le passé composé — completed actions. avoir/être + past participle. Marie a envoyé le courriel hier. (Marie sent the email yesterday.) · Le gestionnaire a signé le formulaire. (The manager signed the form.)
Le futur proche — what’s coming. aller + infinitive. Nous allons réserver la salle. (We are going to book the room.) · Il va confirmer la date demain. (He is going to confirm the date tomorrow.)
Try it — exam style: « L’adjointe ………… une salle pour l’équipe. » → réserve (présent). This is exactly the skill the SLE Reading test checks: choosing the verb form that fits the sentence.
